As a photographer natural LIGHT is most important, and I will do almost anything to avoid on camera flash. I feel the flash looses that romantic feel to the photographs and almost has a staged feeling to them.
Not only does natural light make a room look good but everyones skin looks flattering and flawless. As soon as I walk into a room I open up all the curtains and blinds and try to get the most amount of light in as possible.
When choosing where you want to get ready on your wedding day not only should you keep this in mind but also a room with a lot of space and clean lines, not too much clutter.
I will often us the lounge area or even verandah if its the only way I can get light.
When choosing your ceremony times I recommend going by what time sunset is on your wedding day. Try to avoid photos in the middle of the day as the sun is way to harsh on peoples skin.
For Example if your getting married and Sunset is 6pm than I would recomend having your ceremony 2.5 hours before
eg
3:30pm Ceremony
4pm Congratulations, Group photos, Family photos
4:30 Photos on location
6pm Sunset
Chill out
6:30 Entrance to the reception
