Jack Sullivan Advertisement Shoot

Milque Photography were beyond excited to be photographing the next chapter of Jack Sullivan’s Bridal Collection. The extremely talented son of well-known bridal house Brides Desire By Airs and Graces has released his latest collection – photographed by Milque Photography. The collection is fun, youthful and flattering – and VERY reasonably priced.

We loved shooting the gorgeous Anthea from Viviens Models and worked with Ann Logberg Hair and Makeup.

We hope you enjoy the images as much as we loved shooting them :)

MILQUE Couple | Heidi & Jon

As photographers, we get to visit some of the most amazing, picturesque wedding locations in and around Brisbane, around Australia and also internationally for our MILQUE couples.

Some weekends we could find ourselves surrounded by the fresh smell of hay bales in the country, on the beach with the sand between our toes, or amongst the greenery of a secret forest hideaway.  We absolutely love weddings in all locations and a few weeks back, we were taking snaps of a gorgeous vintage wedding in the city!

Welcome to Heidi & Jon’s wedding.

Even though it rained all day, it never let them bother them!

Ceremony & Venue: The Gunshop, West End (Brisbane).
Flowers & Styling: Pink & Purple Pets
Shoes: Jimmy Choo

Photo Location: South Bank, Brisbane

MILQUE Couple | Karlie & Rob

Have you ever changed jobs as a result of your wedding?  Strange question we know, but one of our fabulous MILQUE brides Karlie, started a wedding styling business after having so much fun planning her own!

Here’s the story of Karlie & Rob…

Rob, a shopfitter and Karlie, an area manager for a jewellery store fell for each other on the job!  After 18 months together, in August 2010 they got engaged whilst on holidays at Malolo Island, Fiji.

Karlie’s dress was designed and made by her close friend Aimee Kahl who has since moved to London to pursue her career in fashion.  The dress was an ivory, full circle, silk cotton, one-shouldered gown adorned with ivory feathers and tulle.  The inspiration was to combine a classic A-line shape with a fashion-twist incorporating the shoulder of feathers.

Aimee also designed and made Karlie’s three different bridesmaid dresses in three complimenting blue tones, based on the body shapes and personalities of her bridal party.  She not only wanted them to feel individual, comfort was also important.

The inspiration for Karlie & Rob’s wedding was ‘eclectic vintage + fun’…  Although their wedding was at Tangalooma Island Resort on Moreton Island, transport difficulties didn’t hold Karlie back from planning exactly what she wanted – a wedding that expressed both of the bride and groom’s personalities.

Starting off with a decorative gramophone, Karlie wanted a large centerpiece for the tables.  Something that was eye catching and vintage, but not easily broken during transport… AND it had to be different!

Planning the wedding was a thrill for Karlie who spent 12 months digging through op shops finding treasure in someone else’s trash.  She found some amazing vases, ornaments, and decanters which were placed along the banquet tables filled with either fresh flowers or sweets for guests. With Rob’s building background, he was able to help his soon to be wife’s vision come to life and built a quirky seating escort sign and kissing booth.

With Karlie’s background in retail merchandising, creating a setting that was romantic, interesting and with an element of fun, came as second-nature.

Karlie kept her styling plans very tight-lipped as she  wanted guests to experience something out of the ordinary, and after receiving so many humbling compliments, Karlie started Hello Beautiful Day – prop hire + event styling co.  After finding so much joy in seeing her guests enjoy themselves, Karlie wanted to be able to offer the same experience to other brides and grooms.
