Darb Bridal Couture seems to be the word whispered from bride to bride in 2012… So many of our brides chose to wear Darb that we decided to pay tribute to a few recent brides that were so beautifully dressed by a master designer…

Milque might be a bit of a strange name for a photography business, but we wanted to create something that was white and pure like a wedding but wasn't a typical corny wedding business. Run by Nat Lynn we are a photographic studio with a team of photographers. We are all passionate about our photographic story telling. Our style has a modern, fashion influenced, photo-journalistic approach, creating + capturing those natural moments.
Attending wedding showcases seems to be our favourite thing to do at the moment!
We absolutely love the chance to meet with brides, mingle with industry professionals – and of course shoot beautiful settings – and the Cove Showcase was no exception!
Thanks to Cassie Visser from The Main Event Weddings for producing such a beautiful event. A host of incredible wedding suppliers made the event a great success. Thanks to all involved

The Port Office Hotel recently held their bi-annual wedding fair – hosting the best in Brisbane wedding suppliers – and Milque Photography was proud to be associated and exhibit as a preferred photographer for the Port Office Hotel. Cassie Visser and her team ran a wonderfully executed event full of innovative styling. Brides were treated to treats catering to all senses from the tasty canapes through to the complimentary fresh flowers for all brides that attended.
We met so many enthusiastic brides that we have been meeting with all week!
We are happy to share some of the photos from the day – and a little photoshoot we did to finish off such a wonderful day with Jack Sullivan – and Brisbane model, Brooke Jamieson. Wonderful collaboration by all
Looking forward to April’s event next year.

We were so exciting to shoot the advertising for well-known wedding planner and stylist – Cassie Visser’s new business – The Main Event.
Cassie and her team came up with an amazing concept for her advertising shoot and we were so happy to have photographed it. The storm clouds loomed but we soldiered on – which actually made for some AMAZING images.
We hope ya’ll enjoy them
Have you ever changed jobs as a result of your wedding? Strange question we know, but one of our fabulous MILQUE brides Karlie, started a wedding styling business after having so much fun planning her own!
Here’s the story of Karlie & Rob…
Rob, a shopfitter and Karlie, an area manager for a jewellery store fell for each other on the job! After 18 months together, in August 2010 they got engaged whilst on holidays at Malolo Island, Fiji.
Karlie’s dress was designed and made by her close friend Aimee Kahl who has since moved to London to pursue her career in fashion. The dress was an ivory, full circle, silk cotton, one-shouldered gown adorned with ivory feathers and tulle. The inspiration was to combine a classic A-line shape with a fashion-twist incorporating the shoulder of feathers.
Aimee also designed and made Karlie’s three different bridesmaid dresses in three complimenting blue tones, based on the body shapes and personalities of her bridal party. She not only wanted them to feel individual, comfort was also important.
The inspiration for Karlie & Rob’s wedding was ‘eclectic vintage + fun’… Although their wedding was at Tangalooma Island Resort on Moreton Island, transport difficulties didn’t hold Karlie back from planning exactly what she wanted – a wedding that expressed both of the bride and groom’s personalities.
Starting off with a decorative gramophone, Karlie wanted a large centerpiece for the tables. Something that was eye catching and vintage, but not easily broken during transport… AND it had to be different!
Planning the wedding was a thrill for Karlie who spent 12 months digging through op shops finding treasure in someone else’s trash. She found some amazing vases, ornaments, and decanters which were placed along the banquet tables filled with either fresh flowers or sweets for guests. With Rob’s building background, he was able to help his soon to be wife’s vision come to life and built a quirky seating escort sign and kissing booth.
With Karlie’s background in retail merchandising, creating a setting that was romantic, interesting and with an element of fun, came as second-nature.
Karlie kept her styling plans very tight-lipped as she wanted guests to experience something out of the ordinary, and after receiving so many humbling compliments, Karlie started Hello Beautiful Day – prop hire + event styling co. After finding so much joy in seeing her guests enjoy themselves, Karlie wanted to be able to offer the same experience to other brides and grooms.
Check out some of the photos from Karlie & Rob’s special day!
